Gelner Gıda launched Turkey's first and only halal, edible gelatine and collagen factory in 2019 as an investment of Uyguner Leather, operating in the leather industry for 85 years. It has introduced many new biotechnological products to its consumers with its facility installed on an open area of 22 thousand square meters and a closed area of 10 thousand square meters in Balıkesir Gönen Organized Industrial Zone.
A large part of the installed capacity of the facility, which was fully implemented with domestic capital and designed to produce thousands of tons, is planned to produce halal edible bovine powder gelatine, while the rest is planned to manufacture halal leaf gelatine.
Gelner Gıda, serving as the only producer company in Turkey with Halal and Kosher certificates, has started to produce powder gelatine in its facility while producing leaf gelatine, which has only three producers in the world apart from Jelyap.
Then, with the investment made in Gönen Leather Organized Industrial Zone, edible powder gelatine production in addition to leaf gelatine has started.
Gelner Gıda, which continues to produce new products in various areas of protein by using 100% cowhide with Jelyap brand and develop existing products day-to-day under the brand name Jelyap, serves safely in many sectors such as healthcare, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and food.
